Ingredients:
- 8 apples
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. all spice
- 1/4 tsp. ground clove
- 2 tbsp. fresh orange juice
- 1/4 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
Wash, peel, and slice apples. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and stir. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours. After the desired cooking time, mash the apples with a potato masher and puree using an immersion (hand) blender until it reaches a smooth consistency. You can also puree the apple in a food processor. If you want the apple butter thicker, cook on high for 3 hours more hours without the lid or until desired thickness is reached. You can also put the apple butter in a saucepan or pot and thicken it on the stove. If you wish, you can can the apple butter. It will last a couple week in the refrigerator in an air tight container.
Note:
You may want to strain the able butter after its cooked.
